DESCRIPTION:From Byrd to Poulenc\, from Thomas Tallis to Joseph Twist\, the program comprises sacred music from the sixteenth to the twenty-first centuries—sung by Melbourne’s leading male-voice ensemble\, with the Australian Boys Choir in a supporting role. \nAmongst well-known favourites by Mozart and Fauré\, there will be a number of rarities: movements from Villa-Lobos’ Mass in Honour of St Sebastian and Pizzetti’s amazing Requiem\, and the stunning Psalms of Ascent by US composer\, Chester Alwes. \nIt’s a short concert—just over an hour—the ideal way to wind down after a busy day and prepare for Friday! It’s inexpensive too AND there’s plenty of parking. This could be your favourite concert of the year. Don’t miss it.
