DESCRIPTION:The Music of the Clock\nCantus temporum: Paul Bentley-Angell\, Matthew Champion\, Louisa HunterBradley\, Grantley McDonald\, Daniel Thomson\, Quin Thomson \nIn 1321\, St Catherine’s monastery in Rouen installed a clock whose mechanical bells played the Advent hymn Conditor alme siderum (Dear Creator of the Stars) before the striking of the hour. Over the coming centuries\, musical clocks appeared across Europe\, crossed the Atlantic to the Americas\, and travelled with the Jesuits into Asia.
