Rachmaninov’s transformation of traditional Orthodox chants through Romantic period harmony is unmatched in its beauty and technique. Melbourne Chamber Choir’s music director\, Alan Cook\, is a specialist in Russian repertoire and language and will direct this unique performance in Melbourne’s most beautiful Orthodox church\, the very setting for which the work was composed.
