DESCRIPTION:Montsalvat is proud to present internationally acclaimed pianist Piers Lane with his performance of the complete Nocturnes by Chopin. \nPiers first performed the complete Nocturnes by Chopin in 2010 for the Chopin Society in London as part of their celebration of the bicentenary of his birth. Since then Piers’ recital of Chopin’s Nocturnes\, in part or full\, has become one of his most popular programmes and is in high demand with audiences around the world. \nBarn Gallery\nThursday November 28\n7.30pm – 8.30pm \nPre and post concert cash bar will be open 45minutes before and after this event. CASH and EFT available. \nLondon-based Australian pianist Piers Lane stands out as an engaging and highly versatile performer\, at home equally in solo\, chamber and concerto repertoire. Previous seasons saw Piers Lane perform three different concerti at Carnegie Hall\, and the world premiere of Carl Vine’s Double Piano Concerto Implacable Gifts in Australia\, winner of the 2019 Art Music Awards “Orchestral Work of the Year”. \nFive times soloist at the BBC Proms\, Piers Lane’s concerto repertoire exceeds one hundred works. He has recorded over sixty CDs\, primarily with Hyperion Records. His most recent releases are piano concertos by Ferdinand Ries\, a sonata disc with violinist Tasmin Little\, and chamber works by Borodin\, the ninth disc he has recorded with the Goldner String Quartet. \nPiers is the Artistic Director of the Sydney International Piano Competition of Australia.
