DESCRIPTION:Tuesday 22 May\, 7pm\nSaturday 26 May\, 7pm \n“So much goodness in such a concentrated form around such a singular artist is a rare thing.”\nMusical Toronto \nTafelmusik Baroque Orchestra \nElisa Citterio Musical Director \nStep back into the age of Johann Sebastian Bach. With the help of 21st-century technology and expert research\, experience his music on instruments of his own time\, and explore the work of the artisans – papermakers\, violin carvers\, string spinners and performers – who helped him realise his musical genius. \nTafelmusik Baroque Orchestra return to Australia with an enthralling new show and an exciting new Music Director and lead violin\, Elisa Citterio. In Bach and His World\, they draw on spoken word\, stunning projected video and detailed images as well as their speciality in period instrument performance to bring an extra layer of meaning to this great music. \nLike its predecessors The Galileo Project and House of Dreams\, Alison Mackay’s latest creation is a miraculous blend of sights and sounds. \n\nPROGRAM\nProgram includes:\nJS BACH Brandenburg Concerto no 3\nJS BACH Orchestral Suite no 1 in C major\nJS BACH Excerpts from Goldberg Variations \n
