DESCRIPTION:The prose of Lord Byron provides the artistic inspiration behind this large-scale symphonic poem by Berlioz. \n\n\n\n\nMSO Principal Viola Christopher Moore assumes the instrumental role of Harold\, a character who wanders through a tableau of Berlioz’s creation. \nAfter the success of his startling Symphonie Fantastique\, Berlioz was approached by the virtuoso violinist Paganini. Having recently acquired a Stradivarius viola\, Paganini was looking for repertoire for the instrument. Harold in Italy was the result – a symphonic poem inspired by Lord Byron’s Childe Harold and Berlioz’s own travels in Italy. \n\n\n\n\nJoin the MSO at the next Quick Fix when Chief Conductor Jaime Martín leads the orchestra through a four-movement symphony with MSO Principal Viola\, Christopher Moore as soloist in Harold in Italy – a symphonic poem inspired by Lord Byron’s Childe Harold and Berlioz’s own travels in Italy. Enjoy a dose of classical music at the end of your day (not a bad mid-week date night either!). \nLow-priced tickets and a 6.30pm start time mean an hour with the MSO can fit in seamlessly to your evening.
