DESCRIPTION:‘One of the great iconic musical instruments identified with this city’\nThe Federation Handbells are beautifully crafted instruments that were originally commissioned by Arts Victoria for the 2001 Centenary of Federation.\nThey have inspired performances from schools\, community groups and professional organisations and can be used by players of all skill levels for any occasion or musical style.\nThanks to Museum Victoria\, Melbourne Recital Centre are lucky enough to offer you the chance to play the Federation Handbells in our Level 2 Foyer from April.\nWhy not come in early to your next concert and hear them for yourself\, compose a new piece of work or hold your own miniature performance? The only limits are your imagination!\nThese beautiful instruments require no prior musical experience and it’s free!\nPresented by Melbourne Recital Centre and Museum Victoria on behalf of Arts Victoria \nThe Federation Handbells Installation is open everyday till 1 August\, in conjunction with the Centre’s opening hours which are 9am-5pm.
