DESCRIPTION:THECHO!R\, Melbourne’s most exciting non-auditioned choir\, conducted by Dr Jonathon Welch AM\, pays homage to our great Australian music\, singers and composers \nSpecial Guests\, Deborah Cheetham AO and Dhungala Children’s Choir\, with all funds going to support Dhungala Children’s Choir. \nDhungala Children’s Choir is an award-winning ensemble for Indigenous children between the ages of 9 and 17. \nFor thousands of years the Yorta Yorta people have passed down their traditions\, language\, dreaming and culture through song on their country. \nThe Dhungala Children’s Choir (DCC) is a continuation of this tradition. \nEstablished in 2009 by Yorta Yorta Soprano\, Composer and Educator Deborah Cheetham AO and pianist Toni Lalich\, DCC gave its debut performance in the SheppARTon festival performance RiverSong and has since become a strong presence in Shepparton\, Geelong and throughout Victoria. \nCreated and directed by Dr Jonathon Welch AM in 2009\, THECHO!R is now in their 9th year of fantastic performances and has over 150 current singing members. \nOne of Melbourne’s most exciting community adult choirs\, THECHO!R has performed extensively throughout Victoria\, Adelaide\, Sydney and Brisbane\, raising thousands of dollars to support other community related music activities including the African Children’s Choir\, Choir of Hard Knocks\, School of Hard Knocks and St Vincent’s Hospital “Sing for a Cure”. \nTHECHO!R’s repertoire spans all genres from contemporary\, jazz and swing to opera\, music theatre and rock and is open to all interested singers\, experienced or budding\, from 18 years and over. \nCabaret style seating (tables of 10) and refreshments available. \nTickets $35 adult / $28 conc & U18 / $110 family of 4 \nBook at http://www.thechoir.com.au \nPhone enquiries: 0419 337 283 \nEmail: thechoir@live.com.au \n
