The winner of ANAM’s 2021 Concerto Competition (cello 2021)\, Charlotte Miles joins James to perform Sofia Gubaidulina’s Seven Words for cello\, accordion and strings. \n“Two giants of 20th Century art music with unmistakable voices are the pioneering composers Sofia Gubaidulina and Astor Piazzolla. I’ve chosen three of their most significant orchestral works for this program where both composers push the expressive limits of their musical language and use of instrumentation to the absolute limits.
