DESCRIPTION:Chris Cartner\, director of Resonance\, invites you to a Gala Launch as Sydney-based Resonance extends its services to Melbourne.With only 100 tickets available\, Resonance presents its official Melbourne launch with an evening of opera and song performed by leading soprano Emilie Lemasson. \n​This very special event will take place in the beautiful surroundings of The Yarra Room at Melbourne Town Hall. The one-hour concert starting at 6pm will be followed by a complimentary drinks party with opportunities to meet the artists\, socialise and enjoy the surrounds of an amazing Victorian salon. \nThis launch at the wonderful Melbourne Town Hall promises all this and more. Come and find out about our reputation for presenting world-class concerts in fun and informal settings! \nMore about Resonance \nResonance was founded on the principle of enhancing the chamber music scene (initially in Sydney)\, creating opportunities for audiences to hear some of the world’s greatest music performed by Australia’s leading singers and instrumentalists. Resonance concerts are also events which demonstrate that outstanding musical events do not need to be expensive: our tickets generally cost $25 (full) and $20 (concession). Tonight’s launch is an exception as it is a one-off gala event. \nThese concerts are deliberately short in duration (one hour). They are held in the early evening or afternoon and are usually followed by complimentary wine receptions in beautiful surroundings. These give our audiences an opportunity to socialise and meet the artists\, and signify that great music is a wonderful way of bringing people together. The concept of the timings also allows concert-goers time to enjoy dinner afterwards at a reasonable hour. \nMusic ranges from the Baroque to the present day\, and features “household name” composers and works as well as outstanding music which is perhaps not so well-known. Our artists are all professional instrumentalists and singers with illustrious performing careers. \nWe currently run around ten programmes per year in Sydney and look forward to presenting performances in Melbourne from May 2017.
