SUMMARY:Peninsula Summer Music Festival 2024: Burrundi Dancers | Emily Granger | Inventi
DESCRIPTION:January 5th 2024\, DOUBLE BILL SHOW 7PM & 8.30PM \n7pm: Burrundi x Inventi x Emily Granger: Our Stories \nA myriad of stories converge on the historical Wiradjuri site at Koori Beach Narrandera NSW\, continuing to the Mornington Peninsula. Our Wiradjuri local stories are shared in music\, dance and narration by local and regional Wiradjuri youth\, continuing a powerful intergenerational connection to story -telling.       \nIn collaboration with classical music artistry from Inventi and Emily Granger\, an authentic translation in spirit brings new understanding and appreciation of our unique cultural landscape. \n830pm: Emily Granger (harp): In Transit \nIn Transit: Inspired by her life as an American artist living in Australia\, Emily Granger performs contemporary works that unearth the breadth and beauty of harp music from the two countries. From Australia\, much-loved composers Elena Kats-Chernin and Ross Edwards feature with exciting emerging voices. Equally breathtaking are works by American luminaries Libby Larsen\, Laura Zaerr and Deborah Henson-Conant. With themes of travel and isolation; serenity and solitude; this music paints a vivid portrait of an artist’s life in transit between opposite sides of the globe. Rich in imagination and overflowing with stories\, this is a chance to observe Emily’s artistry like you’ve never heard it before. \nPeninsula Hot Springs\, 140 Springs Ln\, Fingal \nFor tickets to this performance please click THIS LINK \nTickets are $75 and include Bath House bathing.

SUMMARY:Peninsula Summer Music Festival: Rameau Concertos - Accademia Arcadia
DESCRIPTION:In 1741 Rameau published five chamber works for harpsichord\, violin and viola da gamba. To each work he gave the title ‘concert’\, the French equivalent of the Italian ‘concerto’. Enchanting the ear with endless variety and novelty\, the works are harpsichord concertos whose orchestral component has been reduced to an absolute minimum of one treble instrument and one bass instrument.A celebration of people\, characters\, places and popular dance\, Accademia Arcadia’s performance featuring a mid-18th-century French harpsichord made by William Dowd of Boston in 1976 will captivate and transcend. \nSt John’s Anglican Church\, 50 Barker St\, Flinders VIC 3929

SUMMARY:Peninsula Summer Music Festival: Orpheus Trio
DESCRIPTION:Orpheus Trio presents a diverse program combining rarely heard discoveries alongside well-known masterworks. Enrique Fernández Arbós was a virtuosic violinist\, and later conductor of the Madrid Symphony. His Three Pieces in the Spanish style (1880) are original\, highly stylised works in the forms of some of his favourite and best-known homeland dances. Gordon Kerry’s third Piano Trio (2018) sparkles and glistens with winter light. Dvorák’s popular Dumky trio has its roots in Slavic folk music. The Dumka refers to music involving sudden changes from melancholy to exuberance. Dvorák’s gift as a songwriter is given a spectacular display in this concert. \n
