DESCRIPTION:After a stellar 2024 orchestral return\, the Australasian Orchestra (AO) will commence 2025 explosively with Dmitri Shostakovich‘s exciting (& his most famous work) Symphony No. 5! Also in the concert\, the orchestra will perform Felix Mendelssohn‘s perfect Hebrides Overture\, Australian composer George Dreyfus‘s picturesque Rush (theme from the Australian TV show)\, & Max Bruch‘s timeless Kol Nidrei with AO’s Minh-Quan Nguyen as the cello soloist. The concert will be conducted by the orchestra’s Chief Conductor and Artistic Director Robert Dora.\nThis is a concert not to be missed! Online bookings advisable.\n\nSunday 2 March 2025 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM (UTC+11)\n\n– The event has unallocated seating. The auditorium’s doors open at 1.30pm. \nACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION:\n– The auditorium (incl. foyer) is street level accessible via sloped ground access (the auditorium’s 1st row of seats is on the same level).\n– 10 seats are automatically reserved in the bottom 2 rows of the seating bank for people with accessibility needs.\n– Best auditorium wheelchair access is via the stage door (due to the audience’s main auditorium door’s narrow width).
