A feast of three famous pieces by Saint-Saëns and a Dvořák Symphony. Former MSO associate concertmaster, Roy Theaker, will play two fun Saint-Saëns works for violin and orchestra followed by Kalina Krusteva playing the well-known cello concerto No 2. These will be followed by Dvořák’s 7th Symphony, which is loved by audiences and critics alike. It has been written that “along with the four Brahms symphonies and Schubert’s Ninth, it is among the greatest and purest examples in this art-form since Beethoven”.
