Every year violinist Wilma Smith puts together three different groups to present beloved masterpieces, premieres and undiscovered gems in three concerts. Young artists and established colleagues working together produce a musical chemistry that has become a special feature of the series.
In Reed Rapture, Germaine Tailleferre’s charming string quartet is the curtain-raiser for two masterpieces for clarinet and strings by Weber and Brahms featuring David Griffiths, with four of Melbourne’s finest string players.
