Friends of Music Series returns in 2018 with a stellar lineup of top Melbourne emerging musicians, boasting a variety of styles ranging from classical, folk to jazz and contemporary performances. In August, we welcome pianist Tim Buckland.
Recipient of numerous scholarships, Tim Buckland has played and studied piano since the age of five. In Adelaide, he studied with Professor Stefan Ammer, and at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music under Professor Ian Holtham. He holds a Licentiate of Music Australia, and in 2017 he completed a Master of Music majoring in Performance. He has a broad experience in performing, including two occasions with the University of Melbourne Orchestra. He enjoys a full-time piano teaching load that includes work at King David School and Elwood College as well as his own private students. He enjoys breakdancing and studying theology in some of his spare time.
