Join the start of a new season of music making with The University of Melbourne’s Wind Symphony.
This concert is all about Her. Who is she? She is the Fanfare for the Uncommon Woman by Joan Tower. She is Miss E.C. Wilson, Georgia Isabella Keon, and Tempest Margaret Paul, three Australian composers from the nineteenth century rediscovered in Dances of Old Sydney for Wind Band by our Ph.D. student Tracy Videon. She is Mikaela Thomsen, a student guest soloist, performing Jennifer Higdon’s Percussion Concerto; and she is the inspiration for James Barnes’ Third Symphony.
