The University of Melbourne Wind Symphony

August 30 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Share an evening of music with The University of Melbourne’s Wind Symphony!

Join Jaclyn Hartenberger as she begins her adventure as the Conductor of Wind Ensembles at the Conservatorium. The program begins with Joaquin Turina’s La Procession du Rocio, a celebration that captures the joy of the June ‘dew’ festival in Seville, Spain and then Percy Aldridge Grainger’s Colonial Song. The Conservatorium’s Associate Professor of Trumpet, Joel Brennan, and Professor of Trombone, Don Immel, as featured soloists for the evening, they will continue the celebration with the Australian premiere of Joseph Turrin’s Triptych for Trumpet and Trombone. Completing the program is a transcription of Ottorino Respighi’s Pines of Rome.  There is no piece more fitting to mark Hartenberger’s new beginning with the Wind Symphony.
