Join The University of Melbourne Symphony Orchestra on a journey to experience all the adventure and beauty of nature. Maria Grenfell’s River Mountain Sky ‘celebrates a landscape of rivers and mountains, painted by orange and pink skies at dawn and dusk; a landscape crowned by dramatic cloud formations that give way to quiet nights’.
Then, be tossed into the storm and strife of Neisen’s Concerto for Clarinet whose wild tonality outlines a darker aesthetic. The clarinet’s soulful timbre paints a vibrant, troublesome portrait of modern times. Finally, soar high above the clouds in the timeless beauty of Sibelius’ Symphony No.5, a sweeping, majestic masterwork that evokes the grandeur of Finland’s landscapes.
Each note tells a vivid story! Let the University of Melbourne Symphony Orchestra transport you to nature’s heart.
