The Preston Symphony Orchestra starts its new season with a lively celebration of Rossini, as the 150th anniversary of the composer’s death is marked this year. Our first concert for 2018 includes his Barber of Seville overture, the Variations for Clarinet and Orchestra, and Benjamin Britten’s Matinees Musicales, based on themes by Rossini. The concert concludes with Schumann’s effervescent Symphony No 1.
