Maddalena Casulana (c. 1544–1590) – first woman composer ever to appear in print. Come and hear The Consort of Melbourne perform her newly discovered five-part madrigals in the beautiful acoustic of the Wyselaskie Yuma auditorium, Parkville. An Australian premiere 400 years in the making, these gorgeous, ground-breaking works will be performed alongside vocal gems by Reger, Distler, Parry, Walker, and a brand new piece by Melbourne composer Katharine Parton.
