Tempo Rubato: Olive Cullen & Ronan Apcar – Ocean Whisperings

For the first time in Melbourne, Olive Cullen (voice) and Ronan Apcar (piano) present Ocean Whisperings. The program is made up of songs that capture the ocean’s timeless influence from Greek antiquity to modern Australia, in a blend of indie folk, opera, cabaret and art song, by a range of dead and living composers such as Cecilia Livingston, Edward Elgar, Sarah Kirkland Snider, Gioachino Rossini, Edith Piaf, Marguerite Monnot, Kurt Weill, Peter Sculthorpe, Wendy Hiscocks and Dulcie Holland.

Whether a Greek mythology buff or not, come along to immerse yourself in the timeless tale of Penelope and Odysseus and escape the Melbourne Winter for an evening of connection, longing, siren music and untold stories.
