Melbourne Bach Choir Presents St John Passion on Good Friday
On 18th April, the Melbourne Bach Choir will continue its tradition of performing a Passion at the Melbourne Recital Centre on Good Friday. This year, the choir will present the much-loved and dramatic St John Passion of J S Bach, a profound musical narrative and reflection on the events surrounding the crucifixion of Jesus.

This year’s performance will feature an outstanding lineup of some of Australia’s most talented soloists. Christopher Watson will make his debut with Melbourne Bach Choir with his acclaimed portrayal of the Evangelist. He will be joined by Christopher Hillier, who will again contribute his moving performance in the role of Jesus.

The Melbourne Baroque Orchestra will accompany the performance, and MBC Artistic Director Rick Prakhoff conducts. The St John Passion will be performed in German at Baroque pitch.
