Born and raised in Cairns, emerging Australian pianist Reuben Tsang is already an artist on the rise. He simply ‘stunned the crowd’ in 2016 (limelight magazine), with his performance of Chopin and Beethoven as part of the Australian Showcase at the Sydney International Piano Competition. He was just twelve years old, and definitely a sign of things to come.
Now he returns to the stage as a Piano+ Laureate, having been named winner of the Nancy Weir Best Australian Pianist Prize, proudly supported by YMFA, at the Sydney International Piano Competition in 2023, all the while completing his studies at Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University under the tutelage of Natasha Vlassenko.
There is no doubt that Reuben Tsang is an extraordinary performer with a stellar career ahead of him – now is your opportunity to catch him on the rise as he performs works by Scarlatti and Fauré, along with the Brahms Piano Sonata No.1 in C Op.1 and the Mozart Piano Sonata No.3 in B K.281.
