Since its inception in 2013, Melbourne chamber choir Polyphonic Voices has quickly established itself as one of Australia’s most exciting young vocal ensembles, becoming renowned for its polished, innovative and engaging performances of choral music from across the ages.
For its final concert program of 2016, Polyphonic Voices joins forces with the internationally-renowned Adelaide Chamber Singers for a performance of Gabriel Fauré’s beloved Requiem, Op.48, accompanied by a chamber orchestra and featuring Suzanne Shakespeare (soprano), Nick Dinopoulos (bass-baritone) and Lachlan Redd (organ). Both choirs will also present their own selections of unaccompanied choral music, including Herbert Howells’ moving Take Him, Earth, for Cherishing and Paul Stanhope’s Lament to St. Cecilia.
The same program will be performed the following day (Sunday 13th November, 3pm) at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Bendigo, with vocal soloists drawn from the choir.
Tickets for both performances are available from the Polyphonic Voices website – www.polyphonicvoices.com/requiem
