Kew’s live music destination presents Quercus Trio, a united force of classical musicians with international credentials.
Carla Blackwood on horn, violinist Elizabeth Sellars and pianist Rhodri Clarke have each developed international reputations, having performed in many of the world’s premiere ensembles and concert halls.
The evening will start with a jazz imbued trio by Don Banks, carry through to the romanticism of Johannes Brahms, the evocative lyricism of Charles Koechlin, and finally the colours and emotions of Roger Smalley.
“All three instruments are perfectly balanced and the playing is immaculate.”
Clive Paget, Limelight Magazine
“It is hard to fault the coherence of their ensemble, rich tonal palette, or sense of musical architecture.”
Philip Pogson, Music Trust
“For whatever reason the term ‘supergroup’ was not used in classical music circles but today I declare I have come across one from Melbourne, Quercus Trio, made up of stars from other ensembles.”
Andrián Pertout, Classikon
