Preston Symphony Orchestra: Resurgence

The Preston Symphony Orchestra’s June concert shines a light on women composers – starting with the magical work by Lili Boulanger, ‘Of a Spring Morning’, followed by the first public performance in Australia of the cello concerto by Marie Jaëll, played here by Zoe Knighton. The concert ends with Tchaikovsky’s mighty 4^th symphony, one of the high points of Romanticism. The concert is conducted by Leonard Weiss, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra’s Cybec Assistant Conductor.
