PSMF is excited to invite some of the cream of the past 2 years PSMF Academy to showcase their exciting new projects.
‘Bin 1728‘, a collaboration of Academy Orchestra graduates and Baroque performance practitioners brings to you Vivaldi’s finest vintages of the festival. The infectious zest from Vivaldi’s Concerto for Strings coupled with bucolic harmonies of ‘Il Gardellino’ is sure to impress. The finish is rich, soft and clean – and satisfying.
Lucy Price & Meredith Beardmore present two Classical period duos for flute and cello by Johann Vogel and Niccolò Dôthel.
Nicholas Pollock & Roberta Diamond will present a joint concert of 17th century sacred Italian music that focuses on pieces written using texts from the Song of Songs. The program includes Monteverdi, Frescobaldi, Cima and pieces from the newly discovered ‘Carlo G’ manuscript.
Hugh Fullarton – harpsichord, Alexandra Mathew, mezzo-soprano & Lucy Price, cello will present Haendel’s Lucrezia.
