Musica Viva: Avi Avital & Erin Helyard

Mandolinist Avi Avital and harpsichordist Erin Helyard are musicians of a feather.

Both charismatic advocates for their respective instruments, they’re also masters of the baroque repertoire, bringing to it a unique sense of vitality and panache. They’re mega-watt performers, making every concert an event.

Musica Viva Australia is delighted to be bringing Avi and Erin together for the first time since 2018, when they charmed Tasmanian audiences with their lively rapport. They’ll explore their shared passion for the baroque in a program celebrating Bach, Vivaldi, Scarlatti, and other masters, framed by stories of Avi’s first encounters with this vibrant, often sublime body of work.
