The Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) is dedicated to training exceptional young musicians, creating alumni that work around the world
Anthony Marwood performs with and directs musicians from the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) in a program of revered Mozart and enchanting Schumann as part of our Mostly Mozart series.
Jupiter is arguably Mozart’s most revered symphony and is often used as the example when describing the heights his compositional skills reached. The final movement’s theme epitomizes the divine in Mozart’s sounding output, an embryo which eventually grows a sublime bliss.
Schumann was another kind of talent, a later bloomer compared to Mozart, but definitely someone who could understand and feel Mozart’s talent. A testimony of his reverence for Mozart was shown as the musical journey Schumann started, Neue Zeitschrift für Musik, was launched with a Mozart biography as its front page item.
