Lyric Opera presents Australian Art Song: Words Unspoken

Following on from their sold-out performance IN THEIR WORDS in the 2023 fortyfivedownstairs chamber music festival, Lyric Opera presents a new performance of three Australian song cycles under the title UNSPOKEN WORDS, featuring established and accomplished singers Michael Lampard and Karen Van Spall alongside emerging artists Rachael Joyce (Winner of Herald Sun Aria 2023) and Lucy Schneider (Opera Scholar of the Year 2023) with pianist Coady Green. This concert presents the world premiere of Stuart Greenbaum’s Nelson Suite, Linda Kouvaras’ profoundly moving vocal suite Winter Came Early, and Kevin March’s evocative meditation on Sapphic fragments, Mythweaver. This exclusive event will be hosted by Lyric Opera’s Artistic Director Patrick Burns, who will interview the composers about their works.
