The legendary Timo-Veikko Valve from the Australian Chamber Orchestra reunites with Kristian Chong for two sonatas that were not originally intended for the cello. Beethoven’s Sonata for Piano and Horn was written for the natural horn, while Schubert’s Arpeggione Sonata was composed for the arpeggione—essentially a bowed guitar!
The Schubert sonata is revered and frequently performed on various instruments, while Beethoven’s work is an early masterwork that brims with vitality and vibrancy.
