JS BACH ST JOHN PASSION- presented by Melbourne Chamber Choir and Australian Bach Society

From the opening proclamation “Lord, our Lord” sung over a simmering accompaniment that foreshadows the tragedy and victory of this epic tale, to the tender hope of the final chorale “At my final end, take my soul”, J.S. Bach’s Johannespassion takes the listener on a journey of high drama to relive this tale of redemption. In a collaboration with the Australian Bach Society, Melbourne Chamber Choir’s new music director, Alan Cook, leads a performance that will be one of the highlights of the Easter concert season. Distinguished soloists include Martin Buckingham and Alex Pokryshevsky.
