About the concert
Through their artistic versatility and commitment to diverse cultures, the brothers interpret music across the fabric of time to weave stories and landscapes through their music. Criss-crossing the standard classical guitar canon with music from Australia, Spain, Latin America, and jazz-influenced works, the brothers also expand musical boundaries by offering new works and arrangements.
Spain and Australia are two beloved countries and repertoires for the classical guitar. Join the Johnston Brothers as they take you on a journey through the guitar duo staples of these two cultures. Beginning in Spain with Joaquín Rodrigo’s theatrical Tonadilla, romantic composer Enrique Granados’ Valses Poeticos and finishing with the Australian music that shaped the Johnston’s guitar journey.
This is their first live concert back in Australia in 3-years after having each completed their Master of Music degrees at The Juilliard School in New York.
