J.S. Bach’s Passion—a masterpiece for Good Friday.
After their extraordinary 2016 concert, Melbourne Bach Choir return to Elisabeth Murdoch Hall this Good Friday for another spellbinding performance of Bach’s St John Passion.
Melbourne Bach Choir are joined by Andrew Goodwin (Evangelist) and Warwick Fyfe (Jesus), soprano Lorina Gore, mezzo-soprano Dominica Matthews, tenor Henry Choo and bass-baritone Jeremy Kleeman completing a stellar group of Australian soloists. From the darkly evocative orchestral opening, Bach creates a narrative more compelling than that of any opera of the period. Sung in German, this extraordinary musical journey is the perfect reflection for Good Friday.
Don’t miss your chance to hear Bach’s sacred and heavenly composition performed in the beautiful surrounds of Elisabeth Murdoch Hall this Good Friday.
