Ancestry is a celebration of the rich musical ancestry of two leading virtuoso musicians amazing Czech violinist Romana Geermans and 10 String Spanish Classical Guitarist Matthew Fagan. Romana introduces Australia to the music composed by her step-father Frantisek Domazlicky, the last Czech Jewish orchestral composer to survive internment in Nazi concentration camps including “A Song Without Words” composed at Camp Terezin. The duo then perform Mozart, Paganini and Vivaldi paying homage to Matthew’s musical ancestry from Covent Garden and Melbourne child prodigy Cecil Parkes touring concert halls in USA at the age of 13 and in Australia with Dame Nellie Melba. The duo then shares music composed from their profound musical partnership formed in Australia with the group Gypsy Fire including European Gypsy, Gypsy Jazz, and Matthew’s Celtic and Flamenco music from his successful CD Indigo Moon composed for Romana.
