Australia’s lauded classical guitar exports Slava and Leonard Grigoryan return to their hometown to perform at Hawthorn Arts Centre.
Along with repertoire spanning centuries, continents and genres, the multi-Aria winning pair bring their legendary telepathy to the grand Hawthorn concert hall for one winter night performance.
Their 2024 album ‘Amistad’, released by Decca, is a collection of arrangements gifted to them by composers met during their travels in Australia and overseas over the past two decades.
Contributions to the release came from composers including Cuban guitarist Leo Brouwer, legendary jazz guitarist Ralph Towner, Sting’s guitarist Dominic Miller, Gus Isidore (guitarist with Seal), Australian pianists Luke Howard and Nat Bartsch, and more.
The Hawthorn Arts Centre performance will feature music from Amistad as well as works from their vast back catalogue that have earned the brothers justifiable recognition as Australia’s finest classical guitarists.
