German-Australian Opera Grant: 2026 GAOG – OPERA FINALE
The MTO German-Australian Opera Grant aims to promote emerging Australian opera singers in the development stage of their professional career.
The Grant recipient will become part of the professional ensemble at the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden in Germany for a twelve-month period from August until July each year.
The twelve young Australian opera singers chosen as Semi-Finalists for the Friday audition process will be narrowed down to just four Finalists for Saturday’s Opera Finale. But only one singer will be contracted into the ensemble of the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden in 2026 to follow in the footsteps of the 21 awardees of the past years.
