Free‘One of the great iconic musical instruments identified with this city’
The Federation Handbells are beautifully crafted instruments that were originally commissioned by Arts Victoria for the 2001 Centenary of Federation.
They have inspired performances from schools, community groups and professional organisations and can be used by players of all skill levels for any occasion or musical style.
Thanks to Museum Victoria, Melbourne Recital Centre are lucky enough to offer you the chance to play the Federation Handbells in our Level 2 Foyer from April.
Why not come in early to your next concert and hear them for yourself, compose a new piece of work or hold your own miniature performance? The only limits are your imagination!
These beautiful instruments require no prior musical experience and it’s free!
