These performances bring to the stage new work from composers Liza Lim, Victor Arul, Cat Hope, Einar Torfi Einarsson and Hakan Ulus. Written specifically for the musicians of ELISION their sonorities glitter, constantly transform and shift, embrace the ferocious and the magic of quiet stillness in equal measure. They explore the unusual, bringing instruments together in unexpected ways demonstrating the strength and continuing evolution of contemporary music.
Virtuoso clarinettist Carl Rosman returns to Australia to once again bring his rare brand of formidable performance. He joins an equally remarkable cohort of soloists, Peter Neville and Freya Schack-Arnott. These performances herald a dramatic start to the 40th year of activity for ELISION, a year which sees them play in their home town of Melbourne, Berlin, Hannover, Gothenburg, Den Haag and Sydney.
