About the concert
Their performance in Primrose Potter Salon celebrates the natural world, acknowledging the intricate relationship between humankind and the environment. Beginning with a world premiere of Louisa Trewartha’s devastating new work, Sonata for Soprano Saxophone and Piano, the piece is an evocation of Australian forest life, bushfire disaster and rejuvenation.
Followed by the world premiere of Gulliver Poole’s The Reef, which paints a scintillating musical depiction of the Great Barrier Reef, the piece is as dazzling as it is devastating. Finishing with Professor Stuart Greenbaum’s Sonata for Alto Saxophone and Piano, a favourite from his ground-breaking collection of 23 instrumental sonatas.
Join Duo Eclettico as they perform the works of three wonderful Australian composers in a dazzling array of virtuosic music.
