CONCORDIS CHAMBER CHOIR: SERENITY
An afternoon of nourishing music for the soul
Sunday 29 May 2.30pm @ Ian Roach Hall, Scotch College
Lovers of contemporary choral works and classic gospel spirituals will unite in Hawthorn for an afternoon of soul-nourishing music on Sunday 29 May, when Melbourne’s celebrated Concordis Chamber Choir fills Scotch College’s Ian Roach Hall, with the sounds of Serenity.
Since founding the Ensemble in 1998, one of Melbourne’s most respected and accomplished choral directors and Concordis’ Artistic Director, Andrew Hunter – who is also Deputy Director of Music and Head of Choral Studies at Scotch College Melbourne – has built the group of more than 40 young adults into one of Australia’s finest and most accomplished choral ensembles, with a particular interest in performing and promoting the work of contemporary Australian composers.
Serenity concert will deliver a diverse program of music by established and rising international composers, young Australian composers, and some of the Ensembles’ favourite spirituals.
The vocal magnificence of the Choir will be presented in the equally magnificent Ian Roach Hall, a stunning 500-seat auditorium set within the grounds of Scotch College that has outstanding acoustics proving the perfect setting for a supreme auditory experience.
