Collide Ensemble at Beleura House and Garden

Collide Ensemble unites three international soloists in an ensemble that brings vibrancy, colour and stunning virtuosity to every performance.

Their innovative programming splashes new colours onto classical works whilst celebrating new music by Australian composers.

“Collide is a piano trio with a difference. Good friends Joe, Yelian and Yasmin have put together saxophone, cello and piano in a group that highlights their individual instrumental flair and expertise but also celebrates the unusual combination of timbres not often heard together in a chamber music setting.

Being the curious, exploratory musicians that they are, they’ve done some research into Beleura House and Garden and have cleverly devised a program linking pieces of music to specific works of art in the Beleura collection.

Their program title: “East of the Sun and West of the Moon” is from a work in the collection by Christian Waller. Music and visual arts have inspired each other throughout history, for example, “Pictures at an Exhibition” by Mussorgsky, a famous piece of music inspired by an art exhibit in commemoration of a friend of the composer.
