The Camberwell Chorale is celebrating its 80th Anniversary with a
concert conducted by Douglas Heywood OAM, who this year celebrates 50 years as its Music Director.
Accompanied by the 50-piece Camerata Orchestra with Leader Mary Johnston,
the 100-voice Chorale will be joined by eight soloists who are well known to Melbourne audiences:
Sopranos – Lee Abrahmsen and Lauren Oldham
Mezzo-Soprano – Kerrie Bolton
Countertenor – Hamish Gould
Tenors – Christopher Busietta and Michael Lapina
Basses – Jerzy Kozlowski and Manfred Pohlenz
This special Anniversary Concert program includes a sampling from past performances of choral masterpieces by
J.S. Bach, Beethoven, Handel, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Tippett, Ethel Smyth, Vivaldi and more.
