Bringing together the two worlds of jazz and classical music, the Monash Academy Orchestra and members of the Monash University Big Band present a program of works which embody the jazz and classical idioms on Sunday 10 August at 2.30pm at Monash University, Clayton.
The program for this FREE concert, conducted by award-winning Australian conductor Fabian Russell, features the following works: Shaker Loops by celebrated American composer John Adams, Maurice Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G, Duke Ellington’s Black, Brown and Beige and Nexus by the great Australian musical innovator Don Banks.
