The Benaud Trio is one of Australia’s finest and most lively chamber ensembles. Celebrating their 20th anniversary with an exclusive Melbourne performance, pianist Amir Farid, violinist Lachlan Bramble, and cellist Ewen Bramble have established themselves as formidable performers of the standard repertoire and are well known for their outrageous pop-inspired encores.
Named for its six dumka movements, a Slavic folk ballad form that alternates between melancholy and exuberance, Dvořák’s beloved masterpiece Piano Trio No.4 in E minor, Op.90 ‘Dumky’ is chamber music at its most spirited. Paired with Jakub Jankowski’s evocative Piano Trio No. 2, experience an uplifting evening of striking contrasts as the Benaud Trio bring their characteristic warmth and precision to two compelling works.
