Bach Competition 2022

Melbourne Recital Centre’s 2022 Bach Competition, dedicated to young musicians passionate about JS Bach will soon be open for entries.

Entrants will compete for the Richard Mills Prize of $4000, plus additional encouragement prizes.

This competition is open to any instrument/s soloists, duos or small ensembles (five or less) 17 years of age and under (at 1 January 2022). A minimum performance level of AMEB Grade 5 or equivalent is expected. The competition repertoire will consist of any works of JS Bach not exceeding 10 minutes in total duration. The Competition Final will be held at Melbourne Recital Centre on Sunday 5 June 2022. This event is free, however, tickets will be required for entry.
