The Australian Youth Orchestra brings together the country’s finest young musicians. This February, under the baton of dynamic young French conductor, Alexandre Bloch they will perform favourite Hungarian and Russian classics with the energy and enthusiasm only AYO can. Audiences will be delighted by Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No.2, performed with Brisbane born pianist and 2008 ABC Symphony Australia Young Performers Award winner, Maxwell Foster. AYO will also perform the romantic and stirring music from Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet – a stormy tale of fate, love and tragedy. This extraordinary ballet music follows Shakespeare’s ‘star-crossed lovers’, and is sure to enchant the audience in this Valentine’s Day weekend concert.
Join us for this special performance, and experience the brilliance of the Australian Youth Orchestra before they embark on their International Tour across Europe and China.
