“ANAM’s extraordinary young musicians display such verve and curiosity, and I’m truly excited to be bringing Genesis Baroque’s specialists to ANAM to delve into the incredibly colourful, raw, and expressive sound world of period instrument performance. This diverse program of 18th Century Viennese repertoire is such fertile ground for exploring music through the vibrant, deeply human lens of historically informed performance practice.”
– Jennifer Kirsner, Artistic Director of Genesis Baroque.
Genesis Baroque, known for their historically-informed performances of Baroque music, will be joined by soprano Sara Macliver to lead ANAM musicians.
Sara’s residency will expose ANAM musicians to period instruments and playing techniques that were characteristic of the Baroque Period. String players will experience the difference in sound in gut strings and historical bows. Brass players will encounter the world of natural horns and trumpets. Woodwind, keyboard and percussion musicians will encounter their instrumental ancestors and their associated playing techniques.
Join us at interval in the Rosina Courtyard for a complimentary glass of mulled wine.
