The Melbourne Musicians pay tribute to the Viennese heritage of Artistic Director Frank Pam with music by Eduard Strauss (1835-1916) and his brothers Johann and Josef. The program includes Schubert’s popular Marche Militaire, “Love Your Animal” by George Dreyfus, and violinist Ksenia Belenko plays Meditation from Thais by Massenet.
The concert concludes with Haydn’s famous Symphony No.45,“Farewell”, which cleverly persuaded Prince Esterhazy that his court musicians were eager to take a holiday and return to their families in Vienna.
