Acord – Medieval Performance Ensemble: The Holy Face

In this concert we explore facets of the world of acheiropoieta: literally “not hand made”, but more specifically miraculous images of Christ’s face not created by human hands. There have been many claimants to such status, but in medieval western Europe, just two attracted the major share of veneration, pilgrimage, imitation and prayer: the Veronica in Rome and the Volto Santo di Lucca. Tickets at the door $20 / $10 and there will be appropriate refreshments after.
